Opening days and what you can do on the farm for free this June
Farm Shop next open on Fri 24th & Sat 25th June. 10am-6pm.
• Saturday 25th June  (no charge for activities)
2.30 (sharp) egg collecting (please arrive 5 minutes before)
   3pm Farm Walk ‘Summer on the farm’

What from the farm is on sale at farm shop this June
Organic pork, fennel, salad leaves, cucumber, spinach, courgettes, herbs.
Also honey, cheese, apple juice, hen and duck eggs.

Whats happening on the farm
At last our farm is seeing some much needed rain. We have made our first cut of silage for the year and fingers crossed with this rain our pastures will start to thrive now. Our last spring calving cow calved down at the end of May. Unfortunately we have a fox on the farm. He/she has tucked into a few of our hens and we need to be extra vigilant, locking them in earlier in the evening.

Grangecon cafe now supplying yummy home baking
Jenny Street is now supplying us with home baking and savouries. She uses our eggs in the baking which can be enjoyed at the shop or brought home for later!

Last piggy going to the butcher
This month our last pig of the summer will go to the butcher. If you would like pork put aside for you in the cold room please just let me know.

In the Castlefarm garden
With all this rain the garden is really thriving. I am really enjoying the break from watering. Our first polytunnel crops are starting to bear fruit. We are enjoying own cucumber, courgettes, herbs, fennel, spinach and salads.

Certified organic Aberdeen Angus beef boxes this July
• Meat hung for 21 days to optimise on flavour and tenderness
• €12/kg for a box of mixed cuts (steaks, roasts, stewing beef and mince)
• Extremely good value for great quality product
• Boxes range from 12-16kg
As usual the boxes will include 6-8 steaks, roasts, stewing beef and good quality mince. Cost per kg is €12 and box sizes range from 12 to 16kg. Our beef is hung for 21 days and butchered in Murphy’s Craft Butchers Tullow.

Castlefarm Shop opens the last Friday and Saturday of each month from 10am until 6pm. We are next open on Fri 24th & Sat 25th June. Our free farm activities on Saturday 25th June are helping egg collecting 2.30pm and a farm walk at 3pm.
