Summer club on the farm adds a week in August
Due to the phenomenal success of this July’s summer club we are pleased to announce an additional week. 15th to 19th August, places are already filling quickly and they're strictly limited so hurry to book a place. We only have 6 places left so anyone interested please contact Jenny asap jenny@castlefarmshop.ie or 087-6785269.

Honest vegetables and eggs
Our honesty egg box now has company in the form of an honesty vegetable box. This is an insulated cold box which we refresh every 2 days with our own fresh vegetables as well as John O Brien’s new potatoes. Keep in touch with facebook to find out when the vegetable honesty box has been refreshed!

Whats being sold from the farm this August
Salad leaves, cucumber, spinach, courgettes, herbs, green peppers, beetroot and tomatoes.
Also beef, cheese, apple juice, hen and duck eggs. We are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first season aubergines.

Whats happening on the farm
Anyone visiting our honesty egg box may have purchased some of the pullet eggs, small hen eggs being produced by those March born chicks. Our older hens are still laying well and we will be re-homing them next January. As well as these pullets we have new piglets to feed twice a day. In early august we will harvest our arable silage (the crop you may have seen growing in the field beside the car park) and our oats (which are likely to be sold to Flahavans for their organic porridge). We have also dried off our autumn calving herd, ahead of September calving.
